PARCC REMINDER

PARCC REMINDER
Monday, May 2, Wednesday, May 4, and Thursday, May 5 our fourth grade students will be taking the ELA portion of PARCC performance based assessments.  The students are well prepared and have certainly progressed in their reading and writing skills throughout the year.  It is time for their talents to shine!

Here are a few reminders that we’ve discussed with the students:

1.  ARRIVE TO SCHOOL ON TIME!

This is key for those students that do not take the bus.  PARCC testing is scheduled to begin shortly after 9:15.  It is important that we have some time to talk with the students prior to the beginning of the give day's assessment.  It is important to note, there is a  90 minute time limit for test taking each day.  Time management will be key!!

2.  Get a good night's sleep!

3.  Eat a good, healthy breakfast.

4.  Bring a WATER BOTTLE to school!

5.  Wear comfortable, appropriate layered clothing!

6.  Remember to use all the strategies which they have learned and practiced!

April 4th Weekly Update

Well.... just when we thought it was spring, winter pops back to let us know it is still around.

1.  RECESS this week.  Please make sure your child is dressed for the cooler temperatures this week.  Many have been wearing shorts and no coat.  We will be outside and they will need to be dressed for the weather.

2.  SOCIAL STUDIES TEST -  MONDAY April 4th.  They have had close to 10 nights to study so I know they should be prepared!  The study guide covers all that will be on the test.  Reading over the pages of the chapter listed should also help out.  Please make sure your child returns their book

3.  REPORT CARDS - report cards are being sent home in the MONDAY folder.  Please keep the report card but sign the envelope and return it with your child on Tuesday.  If you have any questions, don't hesitate to email me.

4.  FIELD TRIP SLIP - On Monday, a permission slip for our upcoming June field trip is going home.  Please fill it out and return it to school with the money by the date listed.  We will need chaperones for this trip.  If we have too many volunteers, I will place the adult names in a hat to choose.  Those parents attending will need to have an up to date CORI.

5.  HALF DAY - Tuesday April 5th.  Dismissal will be at 12:15!

6.  SPRING FLING - tickets are on sale for the SPRING FLING that takes place on Friday April 8th.  Please consider joining the school community for this event.  Thanks for all of you who contributed to our SPORT basket that will be raffled off at this event.

7.  BOOK FAIR - The book fair runs through Friday April 8th.  You child can bring money any day to shop.  It will also be open for the early portion of the Spring Fling Friday night.

Thanks for your continued support.

tomorrow.  They will need in tin school when we begin out map work on the WEST this week.
