KINDNESS WEEK

Families of Room 31 ~

Can you believe February vacation is just 5 days away!  YIKES!  This year is passing us too quickly!  Below is an important homework update for the week.

1.   KINDNESS WEEK – As you know from Mrs. Ostrander’s email, this week we are celebrating Kindness Week and honoring several members of our staff who pitch in in various ways and make our community so special.

MONDAY, the 4th graders are honoring Mr. Anderson, our custodian, for all his efforts in keeping our school up and running!  Fourth graders have helped put together a cookbook of favorite recipes, made him cards and can WEAR A HAT TO SCHOOL as we celebrate this day with Mr. Anderson.

HOMEWORK this week will be a bit different and I am including this in the email.  Instead of READING LOG this week, the students will be making CARDS / LETTERS for each of the group of people we are celebrating.  I’m letting you know if advance as kids may want to work on these early if they have busy schedules.  The cards / letters must include SPECIFIC examples of how the honored individuals help our school and you’re your child personal.   Please check the cards out to make sure they are HIGH QUALITY regarding spelling and grammar!  The students will still have their typical math homework.

2.  VALENTINES - We will be celebrating VALENTINES DAY on Wednesday, February 14th.  A notice with the student names was sent home last week.  Please remember that if your child is handing our Valentines, they need to have one for EVERY STUDENT in the class.  There is to be NO CANDY / FOOD Valentines.  Students may bring an EXTRA SNACK that day if they would like.

Let me know if you have any questions.
